New Jersey dealt restricted free agent defenseman Simon Nemec to the Calgary Flames, the Devils announced Tuesday.
The Flames are also receiving forward Maxim Tsyplakov in exchange for first-round draft picks in 2027 and 2028, a second-round pick in 2026 and defenseman prospect Etienne Morin, per the report.
The first-round selections in 2027 (via the Vegas Golden Knights) and 2028 (Colorado Avalanche) are both top-10 protected. The 2026 second-round selection is via the New York Rangers.
Nemec, 22, was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2022 draft. He recorded 26 points (11 goals, 15 assists) in 68 games in 2025-26 and has 49 points (16 goals, 33 assists) since making his NHL debut in 2023.
Tsyplakov, 27, had two goals and two assists in 49 games this season with the Devils and New York Islanders. He has 39 career points (12 goals, 27 assists) in 126 games since debuting with the Isles in 2024.
Morin, 21, tallied a goal and six assists in 42 games with the Calgary Wranglers of the American Hockey League in 2025-26. The Flames drafted him in the second round in 2023
